Big Schäuble is watching you
Yesterday there was a demonstration against the highly criticised bill of the telecommunications data retention in Berlin, Germany. At the end of the day about 15000 citizens participated in the demonstration which started 2pm at the Brandenburg Gate (the one in the background).
The sunglasses show a reflection of a banner reading “Big Schäuble is watching you”. Wolfgang Schäuble, being the current Minister of the Interior, states that in order to properly fight “terror” it would be a necessity to give the public authorities full rights to eavesdrop every citizen suspected to be a “terrorist”, as well as every otherwise innocent citizen who is being visited by a “target person”. This includes wiretapping the phone line, the computer, the flat and also covers video surveillance and faking documents such as emails to implant trojan style backdoor programs into the computers to better collect data.
Allowing these would require to change the constitution of Germany, which in turn would clear the way for a new surveillance state - and worse.
